Berkeley City Club Wedding: Samantha & Dima
Samantha and Dima’s Berkeley City Club wedding was one of the most fun weddings we shot this year! They really know how to have a good time, and were making each other smile and laugh all day. We started the day with Samantha as she got ready with her mother and friends in one of the club’s beautiful hotel rooms.
The shot above is one of those ones where I know my idea is a little strange, but there are just so many cool colors and shapes that I decide to go with it. And it turned out to be one of my favorite images from the whole day! Okay, now on to some of my other favorites from their Berkeley wedding day.
After her sister zipped her into her dress and mom helped put on the final touches, it was time for their first look! We choose the lush patio area for its beautiful architecture, and for the fact that it provided a little privacy for them to see each other for the first time.
The photo above on the right is the second contender for my favorite photo of their wedding day. It shows just how beautiful the venue is–but more importantly, it shows Samantha’s contagious laughter.
Their ceremony was held on the terrace on the second floor and they had the most beautiful chuppah overflowing with flowers and draped with a soft, white fabric. Their ceremony included lots of participation from their friends and family, reading passages in both English and Hebrew.
And of course, ended with great big smiles!
They held their reception in the historic ballroom, where they accented the vintage style with modern touches and lots of beautiful florals by LC Floral Design. Their amazing Napolean cake was made by Glass Slipper Gourmet. And don’t forget their custom challah bread shaped in a heart with their names on it–I mean, who doesn’t want custom bread?!
During dinner we popped outside real quick for a few extra pictures and Samantha revealed to Dima that she had their names and wedding date embroidered into the inseam of her dress. Such a sweet detail!
There were many heartfelt and funny toasts to wrap up dinner and transition into celebration time. Everyone gathered around while Samantha and Dima cut their wedding cake and then started off the dance floor with their first dance. The hora started shortly after and let me tell you, it was clearly evident that everyone at this wedding loved a good hora!
Samantha and Dima, I cannot thank you enough for having me along to document your wedding day. You managed to combine sophistication and fun in just the right measure for a beautiful and enjoyable wedding day and it was an absolute please to make these pictures for you.
